It’s National Library Week!

We are celebrating by offering patrons a chance to get rid of their fines and help others in the process.  From April 12 to April 17, bring in donations for the Manhattan Food Pantry to have your library fines forgiven!

Inquire at the front desk for recommended donations and redemption values.  Donations to the food pantry cannot be used to pay for lost or damaged materials.

Today is Read Across America Day!

“We are honored that this annual celebration takes place on the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel (known to millions as Dr. Seuss), whose imaginative books have helped generations of children learn to read and continue to make reading fun for kids everywhere. Here are a few links and tools to help you and your classroom or library celebrate today.”

March is Women’s History Month and we are celebrating at the library with a display of books about some pretty impressive women!  These women have done amazing things, even when it wasn’t easy.  Come check out a book about an inspirational woman!

Time for Kids has some fun activities on their website relating to Women’s History Month.  Travel through time with America’s most influential women, take a photo quiz, and create captions for cartoons!

You can also learn more about Women’s History Month here at the Library of Congress page.
